Audio: 50 Cent on Angie Martinez (9/30/09)
FYI: 50 Cent has GOAT status when it comes to interviews. Calls Ye’s tour the Gay Tour, calls Jay-Z the “coolest punk,” says Em didn’t know all those people would be on “Forever” and he isn’t happy with the record. He also talks about being #9 on MTV’s list, dissing Lil Wayne, joining up with Kim Kardashian, and claims he still hasn’t peaked yet.
Quote of the day?
Angie Martinez: “The story went that Lady Gag said to Kanye, ‘I have a large gay following and my tour is gay and don’t be surprised…”
50 Cent: “And what Kanye say? Me too?”

RZA Breaks Down the Ghostface Killah Lawsuit

I love articles like these when industry insiders break down the complexities of the music biz. But…
I hate to witness Wu’s inter-turmoil. Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. Truth is, RZA is kinda an asshole (Raekwon has said as much) and when it comes to the money, he seems to have his hand in the cookie jar a lot of the time. Even though he does deserve a lot of the credit since Wu-Tang thrived under his dictatorship in the first 5 years.
RZA makes his argument seem so simple and honest, but I get the feeling he may be hiding something. After all, why else would the judge rule against him? Judge for yourself:
Last week, AllHipHop.com reported that Ghostface Killah had won a legal judgment against the RZA’s Wu-Tang Productions for over $158,000 in unpaid royalties. The dispute centered around Ghost’s claim that royalties from the Wu’s early albums should have been divided as a “promotional share” amongst group members, instead of the 50% split given to the producer (The RZA). Dogged by similar lawsuits over the decade by other Wu members, the RZA reached out to not only set the record straight from his side, but to also enlist the opinion of you, the AllHipHop readers, on this combustible issue. Whose stance do you side with? Hear out the Abbott and decide.
The case between Ghost and RZA is not closed yet. The judgment has not been entered yet, and we are appealing the case. I’m not appealing because I don’t want to pay Ghost something that I owe him. Anything I owe him I would give him. He wouldn’t have to go through the courts to get it from me.
An example is on Cuban Linx I didn’t charge no money on Raekwon for that. The last beats I did for Ghost was “Run” and some other sh*t, and it was the same thing. I waived payments for later. They haven’t paid me for those. So it’s not about me getting money. But he’s with a group of people who to me have a misunderstanding of Hip-Hop and contracts.
XXL: Ghostface Killah – Based On A True Story
Ghost talks about how wild he lets his imagination run when writing songs. He also says that most of the stories he tells about women in his songs never actually happened to him.
Big Ups: XXL
Raekwon Talks About Method + Ghostface Collabo LP
Okay, so this might not be so as simple as I thought it would. The only problem seems to be that Ghost/Meth are both on Def Jam while Rae isn’t. Either way, Rae seems intent on making the album happen and that’s all that matters.
Props Nahright.
DMX Joins The MMA

On December 12th, DMX will be fighting at a Mixed Martial Arts event called Alabama Pride. He will go up against “musician” and Power Moves Entertainment CEO, Eric Martinez. According to AHH, Martinez is apart of DMX’s management team. This is not the DMX comeback I had in mind.
For the record, DMX was always the best character in all the Def Jam Vendetta games. So yeah, there’s that.
Jay-Z Loses Top Spot But Keeps Going Strong

T-Pain – Successful (Apologizes To Jay-Z)

T-Pain hops on Drake’s “Successful” instrumental and then hops back on Jay-Z’s dick. It sounds kinda like he just went a little Jayceon on us, no? Get back to T-Paining, you rapping just sucks.
T-Pain – Successful (Freestyle)
“Alright, so let’s talk about this Jay shit
Somedays I wish that I ain’t never say shit
And Diddy said, ain’t no excuse for what I did
But I felt like he was knocking the same shit that feeds my kids
I do music cause I need it to make my world spin
So when you down it, it’s like you dissin’ my girlfriend
And Jay one of the only niggas I hear bringin’ it
So I didn’t think that he would even entertain the shit
Cause entertainment is see through
But if you really feel like I’m dead, then nigga me too
I ain’t tryna write you’re rhymes
But you coulda skipped one DJ and all you had to say was ‘T-Pain, we cool’
But by all means don’t take this as a diss or hatin’
I just wanna explain my side of the situation
So if you knew just how much respect that I had
You’d know that I’m a real nigga when I say, my bad.”
